Besides the board of ‘Het Waterbouwdispuut’, a few committees are created to help with organizing some main activities. Below you find a short description of the different committees. Do you want to be part of one of these committees? Please contact us either by walking past our office at room 3.72 of the faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences or by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Summer Study Tour
Every year the StuCo (Study tour Committee) organizes a study tour for (future) students of the Master Hydraulic Engineering at the Delft University of Technology. The study tour has a duration of about two weeks and takes place during the summer holidays. The purpose of this tour is to give students the opportunity to get in touch with the practical side of their studies, to meet hydraulic oriented companies, and of course to learn from the different perspectives and visions on hydraulic related issues in foreign countries. Hydraulic activities are alternated with cultural activities, seeing some nature and some city life. The destination differs every year. Examples of previous tour destinations are Sri Lanka & India, Panama, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The MEX is the short trip abroad organized by ‘Het Waterbouwdispuut’ annually. The trip takes place in November/December and lasts about five days. In recent years we visited places like Lisbon, Copenhagen, Venice and Gibraltar. The trips are a good mix of interesting excursions (to universities and hydraulic engineering projects) and fun activities.
Once a year a symposium is organized by ‘Het Waterbouwdispuut’. During the symposium, current problems and opportunities in the hydraulic engineering world are discussed by representatives of the business world and research institutes. They share their vision and experiences with respect to the theme.
